Looks like all hell's breaking loose as various Stark armors are running amok in the aftermath of the death of Yinsen's son. Stark's numerous fail-safes have all been disabled, so it's up to myriad superheroes to put the kibosh on the rogue armors. (And check out that wicked new Undersea Armor -- looks like the Martian Manhunter in his original Martian form!) One thing's that kind of a disappointment is the lack of time devoted to these specialized armors. Remember the entire issue devoted to the original Stealth Armor (vol. 1 #152)? The Hulk-Buster Armor (vol. 1 #305)? Those were the days. Here we see the "Stark-Chobham Armor" which is an "experimental composite of carbon nanotube-reinforced ceramics skinned with adamantium." Think an issue devoted to the use of this armor might be kick-ass? I sure think so. Ultimately, the heroes are successful in thwarting the rampaging suits, and Stark begins his philosophical musings which lead directly to his stance in "Civil War."
Hube's Recommendation: 3 repulsors!
Fan Reaction: Aw hey, I think you're a bit too harsh on issue 12. I would give it a 3 and a half or 4 myself. It was a very good issue and the only thing lacking in it was more time devoted to the armors. Talking about the good ol' days, this issue did a lot in 22 pages which I definitely miss with all these 6 part dealies that have been flying around. I admit it's nice to take a little extra time to tell a story here and there, but I don't think all stories need that many issues to be told. Overall I was really happy with the issue and thought it a pretty good ending. By the way, definitely looking forward to Iron Man movie and video games coming out in 2008! Haha. - JM
