Featuring the following heroine!
Dagger
Real name: Tandy Bowen
dagger First appearance: Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spiderman 64.
Favorite quote: "Hey! Don't go to sleep on me--I'm talkin' here!" (Strange Tales 12. This also featured one of my favorite cover blurbs of all time: "This issue both Dagger and Doc ..." Strange, that is... "take hard falls!" Tandy's was out of a plane...)
MaximumCarnage
Team affiliation: Dagger is strongly allied with and may be physically dependent upon Cloak, who received his powers simultaneously. He certainly relies on Dagger to remain intact and sane. They have worked both with and against Spiderman. Power Pack aided the two vigilantes when the Punisher tried to do them in. In addition, Dagger is a reserve member of the New Warriors, and ended one phase of Maximum Carnage by forcing Shriek to see the light.
Powers: Tandy can form shimmering, knife-like projectiles from her own inner light. These projectiles can induce paralysis, death or, sometimes, a near-religious ecstasy. Before becoming superpowered, Tandy trained to be a professional dancer.
F
avorite Storyline: Although I liked the Cloak and Dagger limited series, where Dagger began to challenge Cloak's insistence on lethal force, her dramatic re-appearance during Maximum Carnage remains a favorite (Spiderman 37). There's also New Warriors Annual 2, where she defeats the personification of Darkness with her light energy blades. Tandy rarely has a chance to be a major player, and it was fun seeing her take down the bad guy (or, in the case of Shriek, the bad gal).
Least favorite storyline: Strange Tales (v.ii) 1-3, where the supporting cast set up by the limited series is destroyed, and where Dagger's humanity is restored briefly before being ripped away again. It was all done way too casually...
