Featuring the following heroine!
Elektra
Elektra Full name: Elektra Natchios
First appearance: DareDevil 168.
Died in: DareDevil 181. Graphically. It was really icky. Most gruesome thing ever depicted in a code-approved book. Really.
Reborn in: DareDevil 190, after members of the Hand started an arcane ceremony interrupted by DareDevil and completed, evidently, by the ninja-in-white Stone. After her rebirth, Elektra started wearing white herself and developed a conscience. It doesn't prevent her from using deadly force. She just feels really, really bad about it now. Sometimes.
Favorite quote: "There's a reason for my rep." (Elektra: Root of Evil 1)
Powers: Elektra is a ninja, with all the ill-defined, half-supernatural abilities ninjas in comic books seem to have.
Team affiliation: Elektra has a really weird on-again, off-again partnership with the clandestine ninja organization the Hand, which periodically erupts in a round of shuriken throwing. She was the Kingpin's chief assassin until her (ahem) "death". There's also her twisted relationship with her insanely sadistic trainer and mentor, Stick. And you don't even want to know how messed up her personal life can get!
Favorite story line: Her origin in DareDevil 168.
Least favorite story line: Her senselessly (and incoherently) reconstructed origin in the DareDevil: Man Without Fear miniseries.
What-the-heck-is-this-leading-up-to department: Elektra has been sighted lurking in the pages of Wolverine (and vice versa). Just what Logan needs, another pseudo-psychotic femme fatale with martial arts training to get involved with...
