Featuring the following heroine!

Meggan

AKA: The Goblin Princess.

First appearance: Meggan's first appearance in U.S. comics was New Mutants annual 2 (one panel). Marvel U.K. readers were used to seeing her in Captain Britain's life by then.

Team affiliation: After many adventures with Captain Britain, Meggan helped him form the British team Excalibur. They almost married, but decided to wait when Brian sacrificed his power to seal a dimensional rift. She became close friends with Rachel Summers, the Phoenix, who went with her when Meggan tried to uncover her missing history. On one memorable occasional Meggan was the X-Men -- all of 'em! Her link with the earth made her one with the Vampires when they were mystically returned to the world, necessitating the intervention of Dr. Strange.

Powers: Meggan is a faery and an elemental. She draws upon Mother Earth herself for power, and has learned to manipulate substances at the molecular level. She's a shape-shifter, a flier, and a natural emotional conduit. When emotions run amuck, as they did during Inferno, Meggan can be overwhelmed by them. During Inferno, that meant embracing the demon N'astirh and becoming the Goblin Princess to Madelyne Prior's Goblin Queen. She can see and sometimes talk to ghosts. In her true form, Meggan can experience the "Alshra," or spirit plane, thus witnessing the life force of the universe.
Favorite storyline: Excalibur 28, where Meggan brings down the Gilded Lady Pub -- literally!

Least favorite storyline: Meggan's relationship with Brian has been tainted by his unfaithfulness (never dealt with) and his often casual treatment of her (partially excused by a doppleganger, which doesn't explain why the post-doppleganger Captain still took her for granted). Meggan's self-esteem is often so low she can't stand to be by herself; she's repeatedly called herself "ugly," and accepted all the blame for Brian's behavior. Brian's been better since he stopped drinking. Perhaps the loss of his powers will teach him some humility!
