The White Rabbit
by Sean McQuaid
First Appearance: Marvel Team-Up 131
Favorite Quote: "Lewis Carroll saved my soul...I am forever indebted to him for that!" (Marvel Team-Up 131. A bored young rich girl whose only thrills came from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland book, the future White Rabbit grew into a wealthy heiress who sought excitement through a life of costumed crime inspired by the Alice characters. She'll rob, loot, even kill just for the fun of it. She's quite mad, you know. Hopping mad, even.)
Team Affiliation: The White Rabbit started out as the head of her own criminal gang, but she also teamed up with the Walrus as the Terrible Two to seek revenge on their mutual enemy, the Fabulous Frog-Man. Frog-Man's other foes, Speed Demon and the Yellow Claw, wouldn't return her calls. Go figure.
Abilities: The White Rabbit is a gifted criminal strategist and organizer, an adroit automobile driver and a good shot with a carrot.
Weapons: The White Rabbit's favorite weapon is her umbrella gun, which fires such lethal legumes as razor-tipped carrots and exploding carrots. She also wears furry white jet boots that enable her to fly under her own power; drives a high-powered Bunnymobile; and makes her headquarters in elaborately outfitted subterranean "rabbit holes".
Favorite Storyline: "The Best Things in Life are Free...But Everything Else Costs Money!" The wascally wongdoers wacky debut, in which she and her gang terrorize New York City until confronted by Spider-Man and the Fabulous Frog-Man. Great, kooky fun for all ages.
Least Favorite Storyline: Well, she's only appeared twice, and her second outing (Spectacular Spider-Man 185) is actually pretty good too, just not as good as the first. It pits her and the Walrus against Spider-Man, the Fabulous Frog-Man and the Leapfrog -- how can you go wrong with those guys?
Future for the Character: I don't know about the rest of you, but the next DC/Marvel crossover I'm eager to see is a Mad Hatter/White Rabbit crossover. They could fight the Diabolical Dormouse or something--it'd be the coolest thing since Captain Carrot's Oz-Wonderland Wars!
