Iron Man Covers - The Invincible Iron Man V2

The title and numbering gets confusing. The original Iron Man comic was referred to as Iron Man in it's mailing title even though it had the words The Invincible Iron Man on the cover. This is the second volume using The Invincible Iron Man as the title; although, there has been 2 other volumes that are titled Invincible Iron Man and 1 other volume titled The Invincible Iron Man. So, this is either Vol. 2 of The Invincible Iron Man or Vol. 4 of Invincible Iron Man depending how technical you want to get. It follows Iron Man Vol. 6 that ended in 2022.

Issue 19, Rhodey stops at the No Name bar a (bad guy bar) and in the old original War Machine armor offers all the bad guy's weapons if they will help him destroy some remaining Stark Sentinels. He shows up with Sandman and Living Laser. It convinces Rhino and the others to join the fight. Meanwhile, Iron Man is saving people on the West Coast from deformed monsters created by Orchis and then heads to the East Coast to help Rhodey. When he arrives, they both step out of their armors and Rhodey punches Tony in the face and Tony asks if they are even? He says not be a long shot and then suggests creating a new team on the West Coast of reformed bad guys. Tony agrees. And, they finish wrapping things up.

Issue 18, we open in Livingston, TX the prison where James Rhodes is sitting in his cell. Feilong sent assassins. Rhodey clicks his necklace which with Pym particles expand his old War Machine armor. He breaks out and a couple of others to aid in the effort. Nimrod is now controlling Orchis and Sentinels are inbound to eliminate humans and mutants. Magneto has arrived. Tony, Magneto, and Feilong discuss the problems and work together to get the Sentinel Buster up and running and head to the Sentinel factories to destroy them. They reach Tokyo and destroy the Stark Sentinels. Then Nimrod came and is confronted by Magneto encasing Nimrod in the head of the Sentinel Buster made out of Mysterium. Then, Nimrod releases Terrigen Mist. Magneto uses the remaining Mysterium as it comes alive and drives it into Nimrod. Iron Man electrocutes the metal and fries Nimrod.

Issue 17, Tony is in the Mysterium armor hanging by wires in the giant Sentinel Buster armor, mark 73, without his helmet. Feilong launched his Sentinel into the heart of the machine. Tony starts making his way out of the armor and hallucinates his birth mom and his adopted mom. And, then all his enemies that have died. Then, Magneto rescues him as they accuse each other of wrong doing. Then he sees his dad as he is rescued in the original grey armor. Then his dad attacks him, says they are doomed as Tony screams for help. Then Iron Man awakes, and Feilong hits Tony with a piece of steel cable. Tony fires a repulsor ray at Feilong. Feilong breaths fire as Tony attacks. Feilong reveals that Nimrod, the Omega Sentinel is now in control of the Sentinels and this time Magneto really is sent by Emma to rescue Iron Man.

Tony used all his financial resources to buy all black market weapons off the street. This allowed Feilong and the anti-mutant think tank, Orchis, to take over Stark Unlimited. They used Stark resources and factories to produce Stark technology Sentinels. When Tony and Rhodey tried to investigate and destroy the corrupted technology, Rhodey was captured and falsely imprisoned. Tony Stark married Emma Frost as a cover and diversion. But also enlisted the help of the Hellfire Club and his friends/allies including Magneto and several of Iron Man's rogue gallery. Tony and Riri created an armor out of a mysterious element called Mysterium and gathered resources to fight back as well as creating a Sentinel Buster Armor. He then used Pym particles to get the old War Machine Armor to Rhodey to get out of prison and join the fight.

Issue 20, Reflecting back, Krakoa is gone. Orchis is destroyed but legal teams are trying to get them out of Stark Solutions. The Hellfire Club HQ in New York was destroyed. Iron Man flies to court and goes in as Tony Stark with She Hulk where James Rhodes charges are being dropped. The judge apologizes to Rhodey. She Hulk talks about annulling Tony's marriage. He says hold off for now. He meets with Emma Frost. Meanwhile on Mars is Feilong in a comfortable house, but it is contained and inescapable, being watched by Tony's A.I. Tony hopes there can be confession and restitution but until then, it is a prison, although a comfortable one. Tony's autobiography comes out, The Assembling of Tony Stark. Few copies are sold. Crimson Dynamo attacks at the book signing. The signing is cancelled. Iron Man dispatches with the Crimson Dynamo. Tony meets with Emma and she basically says it was nice, but it is over. She gives him a check for a billion dollars and vanishes. She remembers what they went through as necessary and a ray of hope in their lives. Tony gave Emma a package with memories from Krokoa, and she is grateful. Iron Man and Ironheart create a memorial with some of the money for those who have fallen for freedom. Then, Tony heads out west with Rhodey with a new thought of mabye a new West Coast Avengers.
